That's interesting may be similar reason to why many cats like to set in a cardboard box??? If there is one around our female will be in it, the male maybe will try it but usually won't stay long...

I'll have to try the circle out on ours...

Funny story, at our old house we had a in/out cat that was out about as much as in... Well when we moved hare, a couple houses from what can be a fairly busy road and him getting up in years, became a inside only kitty... After we were here maybe a year, we brought some stuff from the old house that had been in the somewhat damp old garage at back of property(always had a musty smell)... Well old Abner was in heaven, was all over a box that had some items stored in it... No doubt in my mind he was reliving the old days when he sat on the fence by the garage, that box was his best buddy for a couple days...
