Ebay Vacuum Tube Terminology

Halo getter, Black "O" getter, "D" getter, gray smooth plate top plate "O" getter, gray plate "O" getter, here's a good one; 1/2 gray/black plate.



What is with all this crap? The only thing I know is; these tubes are way over priced! affraid

Exactly that, crap... All this gibberish was started by the audio tube vendors to assure their phools pay top dollar for a tube that's no different than what RCA, GE etc commonly sold... Before probably 20 years ago none of this existed...

Note it's always the rarer versions that sound the best so demand highest prices...

You must know that its all to part you from your money.
Salesmanship under the guise of Flimflams, and most people need to show off, that their stuff Has that extra quality of sound that other electronics have nothing to do with, in quality design, Just Mechanical, such as Black Plates, Getters, Cryogenically cooled tubes, ect, ect, ect.
