Stromberg Carlson model 1101

I was doing some cleaning and forgot about this radio I picked up 2 years ago for a whopping $18!

I really like table radios with a hand wired metal chassis.  This model is from 1946 and also includes 6 octal tubes.  I can't believe how clean and original the chassis is.    soon as the cold weather begins this will be on top of my to do list.

Mez, not my cup of tea but nice! I drift towards wood. Looking forward to your work on it and some more pictures.

I have a 1101H. Mine is brown swirled bakelite. Fantastic performer. Mine had a nasty squeal that drove me nuts for ever. It lists glass tubes as acceptable alternatives to the metal ones. Mine had a glass 12SA7 GT that needed shielded. I put a metal tube in it and the problem was solved. Probably the best performing AA5 (6) that I own hands down. My chassis is nice, too. I polished it out with Simichrome and a Dremel tool. My frau bought mine in a junk store in Sheridan, IN in 1981 for $3. Have fun this winter, and good luck.
