For your type of tube operated radio, try picking up earlier starting in 1946-1962 found periodically found in ebay.

Bill, in trying to drop that much voltage, nothing proved practical. So I did indeed replace the transformer with one closer voltage wise. Instead of 350-0-350, the secondary is 295-0-295 and DC output is now pretty close to what it should be. I did double check the DC current draw with two different mA meters. Both read 75mA. This transformer is rated at 100mA max. The set runs great, but the transformer still runs warm. Just not as warm as the other one. Certainly with voltages now close to original specs, I guess I'll just stop worrying about it. I did install a small 3AG fuse 1 1/4 amp to fuse the primary of the transformer, for safety's sake. And, I hasten to add, thanks to everyone for their input!
