Just Radios Order

Post by tube radio on Tue Feb 10, 2009 8:44 am

Has anyone else ordered any parts from Just radios in Canada??
I ordered capacitors on line and I got a email that said Your order will go out surface mail via Canada Post in the Monday, (February 9) mail.

I thought they would give me a tracking number or something.

I was just wondering how long it would take my parts to get here.

Thanks for any information.

While I can't specifically answer your question, I did recently, within two week buy a Pioneer SX-34B receiver. It took about 9 days to arrive in Baltimore, MD. Some times things get caught up in Customs, don't know if it is US or Canada...

Mind you, that receiver is tube and weighed about 30 some pounds. I have had items come quickly and and sometimes slowly. Certainly not the fault of the shipper.

On a side note, Just Radios lists high voltage caps that are very hard to find, 6,000VDC axial. I think that the electrostatic deflection picture tube TV sets use them to couple to the deflection plates. These caps were very hard to find. Sorry to hijack the thread...

Lee-

I have also ordered from Just Radios several times and they are excellent. Usually the mail delivery time is 2 to 3 days from the ship date.

I too have ordered from Just Radios many times. It does take longer to arrive in TN then if I ordered something domestically, like from AES. Still I like Just Radios extensive selection of caps. Their shrink tubing is good to have an hand too.

Thanks philconerd and jim campbell .

Jim do you remember Archie (grandpappy) Campbell of radio and TV fame. I remember him from when I lived near Oak Ridge about 40 years ago, also he was on Hee Haw.

I enjoyed his rendition of Cinderella by changing the spelling around.

Tube radio, for an extra dollar he will send via 'airmail'. Surface mail can be slow on occasion...might even be as much as 2 weeks. The airmail is usually just a few days.

Tube Radio, I have ordered caps twice from Just Radios using surface mail and both times took 2 weeks to the day and I'm in Cincinnati,Ohio so I would say you can expect that time frame. I really like their website and dealing with them so next time I will spend the extra buck for airmail which everyone says is a lot quicker. Got the same email you got verifying the order, so be patient I'm sure you will get your order....Bill

I ordered from them once and it did take exactly 2 weeks to get the order. I later noticed there is a place at the bottom of the cap order form you can specify air mail for $1 more. I'll try that next time.

Hi all,

Keep in mind that this is Canada. There's a running joke around here that the reason shipping is so high and takes so long is that Canada Post also charges you for storage. Very Happy Razz
