Looks pretty simple. Bet it had a nice price when new.

It is pretty simple, a cascode circuit and power suply, but the way the circuit works is kind of elegant. I sent the manual to BAMA and it is on there now if you want to read about the circuit description, schematic, etc. It is the model 715.
up to 15 megohm input impedance, and 500 kHz at the high end. It's no HP 400 series in specs, but should be good for audio work. The HPs use about 10 tubes and are much bigger, but more sensitive, accurate, and have higher bandwidths...and prices...more for RF work.

Considering tese pics are as I got it, all original and no cleaning on my part, I bet it was stored somewhere nowhere near moisture, mouse pee, etc.
I did recap it, replace the selenium rectifier with silicon, and run through the calibration procedure.
