RCA Victor BP-10

O.K. Guys. Tell me I wasn't crazy. I bought it on an offer of 22.50 on ebay.
Was I out of my mind??

It looks nice outside, but it looks like it will need attention in the D-cell region. the cabinet comes apart pretty easily, though. It can use the battery pack that Mezlaw posted about for the 'B' battery. The case looks good too. The strap is broken on the case for mine.

Well, I've received it, and, there is both good, and, bad news.
Bad. The front plastic door is broken at one hinge, but, is repairable.
The A battery holder is trashed.
Good. Rest of case is excellent. Carry carry case is very good, and, subtle, and, strap is all there.
Not other damage inside radio.
I think this radio is going to be repairable....

I wish you the best on this, but it sure looks a mess on the inside. I've never seen that much battery decay in one place that was "repairable". Replaceable, yes...

It always seems like the D cells are the weak link in the tube portables, leaking all over. The wall of the unit is removable though, so that aids in cleaning things up and getting around it's innards.

You don't get it.. The battery holder was the only thing ruined. Everything else below, and, around it is fine.............

Well, of course not. It's un restored, and, I have to find a way to rebuild the A battery holder.
