Condition: Used, great condition, untested AS IS. Came with some gear I got off a friend. Was told it worked fine.

This person should be a politician with so much diarrhea of the jaw;

Great Mid Century table top radio.
In working condition but we didn't have a 300ohm antenna for fine tuning.
Has the quaint warm-up period of a tube device. Testing here, the radio pulled in a few AM stations with the wrong antenna.
We recommend a cord replacement because of age, not cord condition. It isn't cracking yet.
No cracks in housing, powers up, receives signal, needs antenna in our location. Additional cleaning recommended.
* Tuning knob turns past the stop; works well within it's intended limits.
The appearance is great and will adorn your display well after another cleaning, with methods of your choice.

Vintage General Electric Radio/Clock. Works! It does have a srew missing. And a tiny crack...considering the age it is in Great condition.

"I recently saw this same model go for $XXX.XX on eBay."

(Good for you, but that wasn't YOUR radio obviously.)

"I tried testing it, but couldn't figure out how to turn it on."

(So you couldn't read the clearly stated "ON" by the clock control lever?)

"I tried powering it up, but something smelled 'hot', so I quickly unplugged it."

(So are you an electrical engineer, a safety instructor or both?)

"I'm a retired electrical engineer with 40 years experience."

(True story, bought a "restored" radio off of eBay. Supposed expert used (2) wire nuts to attach replacement cord to cut-off internal original power feed wires, electrolytic replacements were just "floating" under the chassis and none of the wax capacitors were replaced....by the way, I bought it because I liked it, NOT because it was supposedly restored).

Rare.. A word that is used way too often on online sales of any type.. especially when there are numerous things of that same model listed for sale.
