ARF is special?

ARF is special?
This site seems to work just fine. The only problem i have is the font color there is not enough contrast (must be my eyes). My question is what makes ARF so special? I know that members there are the greatest but what if they all came over to this site? Would ARF Just a thought go down hill? Don,t get me wrong but isn,t it the people that makes a site enjoyable? Just a thought

Stan Ski, I think that it is the people that makes a site enjoyable.
I hope that ARF and this site can continue to stay operating.

Re: ARF is special?
ARF isn't 'special'. It is a very nice site. It is the members who make it special. People hate change, and to change to this site IS change. Plus, habits are hard to break. Therefore, most will resist changing sites.

Re: ARF is special?
I find ARF special in that when i got back into radio's, it was the first site i felt at home at. The fact that i've learned alot and made many friendships on there is what makes it special to me. So more or less its a sentimental thing i guess. Yes, there are other forums now that accomplish the same thing but i rather be among friends that i respect and trust their knowledge. Yes, members are what makes a good forum, not the forum itself. The only other site i feel the same way about is Audiokarma as it has the same feel. This site is a good alternative as it has members from ARF and AK so i feel good about being here also.

ARF is special to me. A lot has happened in the 8 years I've been there. Not all good. Made many forum friends that I can chat with off site. Friends are a good thing to have. Can't have too many friends, but have one enemy, and you will meet him on every corner.
PS, I see my post time is bogus. It is actually near 12:00 Noon CST now.
Wonder if I can fix that?

At the top of the home page go to profile in profile go to preferences and go down to the bottom of the page to time zone.
You might need to set it a few times to get it right.

Re: ARF is special?
I love ARF. Been doing radios since I was 14 but I've learned more about fixin' in the last 2 years than my whole lifetime before. (I'm 54 now)
I've had loads of help with any question I asked. Even got a couple of freebie radios from very kind members and schematics I needed. Been bailed out of problems many, many times.
I'd like to see this forum get nice and active also.
Note to whoever administrates: I'd like to see a good black font also-my vision isn't the best either.

I don't either exray, but I don't think I ever knew any of the helpers.
Might you be about to reveal a theory or observation?
Threads do stray Ken. Note my time is right now, thanks to a reply from a member who told me how to do it.

That was turboservo. He held auctions that benefited the site. Last I talked to him he was back in Japan. ( he had suffered a stroke.)

That is interesting, I never knew he was from Japan. Seems so many just disappear and you never notice.
