Cute little Motorola

Post by Wildcat445 on Thu Dec 12, 2013 8:47 pm

I think these small sets are kinda cute, if that is a good word to describe a tv set. Are these good performers when they are restored?

How appropriate..."Golden View" since Motorola marketed and labeled their audio equipment as equipped with the "Golden Voice".

Nice little collector model.

Actually, not at all a bad price for that set. Wish I could afford it. I'd love to have it.....

Does this set have a 7AP4? Do they work well when they are right? How hard are they to work on and can parts be had? Thanks, Bill.

No. It uses a 7JP4. when working right, they have a good picture. It wouldn't be a good daily user though, due to low life level of pix tube, and, it's pricey to replace. But, that set doesn't look like it's seen a lot of run time, and, case looks good.

I meant 7JP4. I hit the wrong button. I think I will just keep looking for an RCA or Zenith with a different CRT. I may be pushing my luck. Thanks, Bill.

I don't like to get items and spend the time and money fixing them just to be a shelf queen. My stuff gets used. Short-life picture tubes are not something that I need. My luck is that I would go through that set and then in a short time the CRT would go south. I will leave such sets to those more able to deal with them than I am. Thanks for your input, Bill.
