Hi all,

Had a chance to get to the local ham flea market a week ago Saturday. Managed to pick up a few items of important stuff I really need.Very Happy

Picked up 2 parts cabinets with assorted new and used goodies in them for $25

Went through them over the weekend and did a heck of a lot better than I imagined....................

Item 1...........

The only problem is these have no marks whatsoever on them, so I'm wondering if they actually are what's marked on the envelope.

Item 2.........

A plastic tube with Northern electric 2N24 transistors in them

Item 3.........

Four unknown transistors.....

The only marking on them is the FG1 on top of the embossed T

Item 4........

Some assorted germanium transistors.......

I still have some drawers to go through yet. Smile

The detective work on the unidentified devices should be interesting.

I may have a lead as to the gold transistors. I was on the transistor museum site earlier today and found a link to Transitron Semiconductors. This company was right next to my home town of Malden Mass., and I remember it well.

Their add on this page caught my eye.......................

The "T" in their add looks identical to the "T" on the transistors. I'm gonna look further into this one. I gotta say, I'm kinda like a kid at Christmas with these latest finds here. Very Happy  Very Happy

UPDATE............

Jack at the Transistor Museum has confirmed for me that the gold transistors are indeed Transitron manufactured items.

He would like more pics of the Northern Electric ones to look into.

One problem solved! Very Happy

It must be good having a piece of history from before Silicon Valley drew much of the semiconductor industry from the east coast. It would be hard to find such a logo being lavished on a component even in print these days.

It's definitely a nice piece for m for sure. Very Happy

What makes it even more special for me is that it came from Transitron. As I said previously, I've passed that place numerous times when growing up as my home town was next door. That gives it a more personal touch to me.
