I apologize to Gary or anyone here who might of been offended by me Calling Bush a moron.
It was Insensitive of me to just Blurt that out here.
But i've been looking at this image below for the last week ,It might of corrupted my Thoughts a bit.

I have to say this has really been an excellent discussion of some Politics.
I believe we can Discuss certain topics and still be civil to one another.
It's good to be here talking with you guys!!

That's what I like about this site. cheers It's great to get things off our chest and vent a bit. I think a lot of people made a lot of good points. By and large, everyone was respectful of each others positions while stating theirs.
There was a thread on another site that was similar to this one, but less political. There was no name calling, cursing, etc. I was checking it often because there were lots of posts. It was not locked but totally deleted! I don't think I had ever seen an active topic deleted before. It's up to the admin, if we don't like the rules, we don't have to use it.
And I like the Bush pic; where did you find it?

That's just one more aspect of slick marketing that the news media puts out. If you look back through the newspapers of the past few years, you'll notice that any photo of President Bush that they use is rather unflattering. They also did this to a degree with Senator McCain, between the primaries and the election. As for Obama, this was commented on by many -- did you notice how the camera was always facing upward to make him look tall and majestic? There was always a light in the background to make it appear as a halo. Whenever he gave a speech that was broadcast on the radio, a little bit of reverb was added to make him sound godly.

Now I certainly don't collect this stuff, so I don't have examples on hand, but do you remember the photos that Rush used to use on his TV show? With Bill, Hillary, Pelosi, Foley, or any of the bunch, he would come up with the most ridiculous-looking poses of these people that you could imagine. The one and only purpose for this was to emphasize the fact that the news media does this to Republican leaders. Not necessarily as bad as the example here, but just subtle enough that you don't notice. Does he really look that way? Have you ever met him in person? (The only President I've ever met in person was Jimmy Carter; he was President back when I serviced equipment in the White House. I also met his wife, and the Shah of Iran and his wife. Does Carter look different in person? You bet; he's a short guy.)

Speaking of unflattering photos, that's not you in that avatar, is it? Just kidding, but imagine if you were a public figure, and everybody's impression of you was based on the photo on your driver's license.

It's ironic, Dr. King's dream was that a man should be judged by his character and not by the color of his skin. That said, if Mr. Obama was judged by HIS character, he probably wouldn't have been elected....

The Paparazzi Leech off all celebs Waiting for that awkward moment to get that one good shot.
With Bush as President, lets face it ,They had more than their share of money shots, maybe more than any other president.
But remember they didn't ask bush to pose, those Chimp like expressions and jesters were of his own doing.

All they had to do was wait with the camera and click when it was a good shot.
Now on the other hand if they were waiting for someone Like The Guy who played Corky or someone with Down Syndrome or Mentally challenged, then that would be horrible and we would have something to complain about for sure.

I think i got this pic in some foreign blog ,maybe Russian?
I haven't seen it in any local blogs yet and looks to be from Jan 20th.

Oops!,
well Gary Now I Can see you said"Speaking of unflattering photos".
Before I had my older glasses on and thought I read"Speaking of unflatulent photos"so I changed avatars.
The other avatar was me trying to morph with my old pal Johnny Winston,He was in a band called "The Dirty Mac"in 1968 and some other band I forgot the name of.
I always did like his hat and glasses.

But i have to say some drivers license Photos are probably As good as it gets for some people.
I was once in a small town in Florida where everyone looked exactly like their drivers license photo or maybe it was Mugshot?

Never truer words were spoken!
Too bad so many forgot Or refuse to be reminded.
I tried to stress that point in another post somewhere a few days ago.
But racism On purpose or from ignorance is still racism.

"
do you know what your response would be If you asked any one of those people who believed in This Icon Without ever seeing what it can do?
"************A Rush Limbaugh fan ***********watching Fox news"

That statement was not put out there as an attack on any side of the fence.
I brought that up here Because I read someones"Faux news"sling,
i have had that very statenent""************A Rush Limbaugh fan ***********watching Fox news" said to me in other places.
beause I don't share their thoughts on Obama.

I also stated I could care less about the right or left.
as far as the word A_s I figured this was a open forum where we could say a word said regularly on primetime network tv.

2nd- "If Al Franken is your favorite new politician, lol

I did not take that as anything but a joke, I'm sure it's author didn't Put it out there as an attack.
I have met Al Franken many times he is a true witt and one of the most Intelligent people you could meet.

3rd- "You want to see an (edited for content), take a trip to the medicine cabinet."
I agree with you the author of that statement has made other Baited remarks Maybe to stir things up?
but this post remained Civil except for that.
again my remark about bush was wrong to put here also.
4th- "Please don't criticise me for fearing Obama."
That is a persons Opinion ,One which I share, can those words be taking as an attack?
I would like to thank those who let me speak here It was a very good discussion in it's real context.
But i see where this is going So again thanks to all for the very nice political discussion.
I would gladly speak our political differences with 99% of you guys here ,if we can find a forum to meet at.

Hold on a minute! Before you calculate the cost of the inauguration to the taxpayers, The Obama "stimulus Package" has 21 million included to re-sod the lawn at the national mall which suffered heavy damage during the inauguration.
