$30 from Craigslist

Post by Ragwire on Fri Jul 19, 2013 8:04 pm

I got this through Craigslist yesterday:
(Of course I had just bought a new SWR/Power meter...but one of the new/old ones has filed strength reading.)

Can anyone direst me to where I might buy a schematic for this Heath/Bell and Howell clunker? There is no horizontal sweep...Thanks!

The torch looked familiar. When I was little, you would see them in highway emergency kits, before Olin's fusees caught on.

Cool!
They were a little before my time, I guess. I saw them on old cartoons first.

I can remember the street departments using them at night, but they were more like a cannon ball and painted black

I saw one of those cannn ball ones for sale, but it was too rusty. That's the kind I want.

Heehee.
Dirty pots, I thought...but it stopped sweeping again later, and I found the center wire of a small shielded cable shorted to another shielded wire on the horizontal sweep board. As soon as I separated them, it instantly began to work and has ever since.

Thanks!
I have ordered a Tektronix 15 MHz dual trace from a brick and mortar recycling store on ebay that is supposed to be technician tested and has a warranty. The old B&H may be a spare soon.
