B and K 960 Transistor radio analyst dyna trace probe

Post by radio451 on Wed May 15, 2013 10:16 pm

Hi,
I recently acquired a B and K model 960 Transisitor Radio Analyst, it came without probes. In the manual it mentions a "dyna trace" probe to be used in the in circuit transistor tests. The parts list only lists a 3 foot red test prod lead ASM-127. Is this a special kind of probe such as is on some signal tracers or is it just a regular test lead.

I am new to transistor radio repairing as a hobby and would appreciate any info on this probe.

Thank you, but it does not show the probe being used. The Dyna Trace probe goes in the jack between the large knob below the meter and the first smaller knob below the selector switch. It is used for in- circuit transistor checking (it is placed on the base), and also for signal tracing. I had seen these videos and they are helpful.

For solid state (transistor) testing, just a multimeter probe should work since dc voltages are low. Google "dyna trace probe"

I have a probe I ran across but it is a B&K Dynaflex Probe. It has three needle pins on one end and a miniature three pin connector on the other. I have a B&K 160 Transistor tester and a B&K 520 Transistor tester, but it isn't for them.

I think it's for an osciloscope.

I found out that the probe is part of a Jud Williams transistor curve tracer Model A.
Which I forgot that I had. Embarassed
