Brunswick Model 1700 radio
Hi guys,
I am new here!
I have a Brunswick Model 1700 radio which still glows!!!! I was wondering if anything could help me with 1) directions on where to get tubes, authentic antenna and parts (i get great static but nothing else) and 2) an idea of what it might be worth. I picked it up for $70 and love it to bits!!
Thanks,

Re: Brunswick Model 1700 radio
Welcom to TRF Freddie.
You should start with posting some pictures of your radio. Then tell us a little about your abilities. You can look in the "useful link" forum to find where to get many parts. I would not plug it in anymore untill you see about replacing the capacitors. There are some step by step instruction here on a simple radio. You should read that first and see if you feel you can do this your self.

I second that on not plugging it in. I just looked at one that the owner isn't going to repair as the radio had bad caps. It was plugged in and the caps shorted the transformer. Made the radio worthless. Depending on your skills it may be a easy fix. If not maybe someone around you can help. Where are you located?

Re: Brunswick Model 1700 radio
Hi everyone.
Thank you so much for being so ace. Don't worry, i only had it plugged in a moment. Curiousity is my undoing.
Here is the only other example i can find of it online (and there seems to be quite a story behind it): [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
What i can tell you is that it has Brunswick written all over it and the original 'stickers' on the back.
