Onkyo TX 21 and Warfedale model 60's

Post by tuberadiogeek on Tue Feb 12, 2013 4:18 am

I thought i'd share what i got myself for christmas this year. I spotted a Onkyo TX-21 on ebay right before christmas that had been fully gone through and had all the switches and knobs cleaned. I cant quite remember what the seller wanted for it but i ended talking him down to 17.00 plus 25.00 shipping, i got it 4 days after i paid and it came single boxed from upper Michigan and it got the corners dented so i got a couple dollar refund on it. Then a few days later i spotted a pair of unkown brand speakers in buy/sell group on facebook, and the guy just wanted to get rid of them so i got them for 20.00 locally. Upon getting them i researched the name and found out they were Warfedale model 60's. They are from 1961. They were untouched and rarely used before i got them. I used them with the original can 12MF non-polar electrolytic for a short time. Then i replaced them with a 10 and 2.2 MF caps to get close to the original value and left the can in place. The Onkyo and Warfedales go really good together and i think i got both items for a steal. I seen no way to attach pics, so i put them on my Flickr.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/benkeysor/sets/72157632751015002/
