Nothing too spectacular...I know...but it's what I can afford and what I like. Several repainted AA5's that I bought cheaply and got back to nice condition. The Delco on the right in the last picture was broken in half right through the station dial and had most of the slats between the pushbuttons broken out. Lots of fiberglass resin, thin slats of aluminum and even toothpicks can be found in this cabinet.

The Transoceanic was my first radio I stole at a farm auction for $15 20 yrs ago. The small 4 blade fan next to his pocket meter were my dads. The fan was his bench fan. The Steinite cathedral with the not so great grill replacement was my dads too. No tubes and the grill was fully broken out. RCA 19K from Art Hoch 30 miles north of me for $75 a couple years ago. Needs to be refinished.
Gee I wonder which bakelite Zenith is my favorite? J615 maybe in all 5 colors available.
Edison Hepplewhite has the 78 rpm adaptor so no I'm not playing 78's with a DD reproducer.
The last two photos shows what I have managed to "work into" the living room. The kids organ is my wifes from her grandmas house and holds tons of cherished memories. The big console is a Westinghouse radio/phono combo from her grandmothers' too. Memories again.
The Fireking pheasant coffee cup in the cabinet came from my grandparents farm. Memories of my childhood of the adults sitting around drinking coffee from those cups and us kids, 10 of us maybe cousins and all, having the time of our lives on a 600 acre farm with lots of woods and creeks. Sigh...I miss those times.

Very nice collection and displayed well. Did you restore the cameras, or just nice buys?

Cameras are what I pick up when I find them for a reasonable price at sales. I have more upstairs primarily Brownie movie cameras. Also have around 10 radios in a closet waiting for restoration/repair.

A photo of the cabinet of that white Delco can be found here. That darn thing took a good 2 months of fiberglass, sanding, grinding etc to get the curves and slats just right. Probably my proudest restore.

Nice collection. If you buy more large consoles, you have a place to set table radios with record players. Then you can set AA5's on top of them. (I'm just kidding.) I have the Zenith J615 is black, brown and white. The Bendix sitting on the bottom shelf there in brown, I have one really similiar that is painted refrigerator white that was my grandmothers. Model 0646, IIRC. I sure wish I could organize mine like yours are. IF I was smart enough to post a picture of my "collection", I would probably be asked to audition for an episode of "Hoarders, Buried Alive."

Regards

WC

Thanks for the camera information. I do the same thing and have been lucky to find some in decent condition. I don't restore them, hence the question.

Thanks for the compliments. At one time I did have around 100 radios including several consoles of which to stack AA5's on. Sold off most of the consoles and around 20 or so tabletops. As mentioned I do have 10 or so hiding in a closet. Also not pictured are 2000 78 rpm records and around 300 lps. Those are on the floor in a large walkin closet for this room. OK some are on the floor in the room too.

I have gotten away from most restoration for the past 9 months. Looking forward to getting back to it in the spring. Electronics restoration I know enough not to burn the house down. "Do all of these work"? Heck no. Maybe half do. I can handle the basics of most of the tabletops but like the "refrigerator radio" on the shelf the wiring is totally worthless on that one. The wiring insulation is so brittle from age it almost turns to dust when touched. Major work for that one which I don't feel too comfortable doing.
