Love those Old Radios

Post by ea327 on Sat Dec 15, 2012 7:50 pm

Hello everyone. My name is Eric Adams and I live in Lake in the Hills, IL. It is a small suburb northwest of Chicago. I retired from the car business and have picked up a hobby that I had as a kid. At that time some new radios still had tubes. I started up again this summer with a Crosley console and have restored mostly Philco radios so far. I really love the feeling of bringing a dead radio back to life. I always have questions, so I hope I came to the right place.

The radio is a Crosley model 828 from 1939. It was my first restoration. It is in the living room and I often sit in front of it late at night and do some DXing.
