Bill I don't think I seen anyone so happy over a wooden box since I helped my grandson build a derby car with 6 inch wheels. Good luck.

O.K. guys. I know when I'm licked. This is the end of the thread. Have a great day. Apparently, very little interest, so, no reason continuing beating this dead horse.

I thought no one had interest, so, I've already started repairs. However, I can take some pics of where it stands now.

Information so far.
I glued one broken corner of the shelf with the crack earlier this morning. I just finnished doing another major patch. One leg was broken off, and, I heavily glued it along with the decorative molding, the shelf, and, put, and, glued the broken piece from shelf back in. One entire side of the case is wobbly, and, I suspect both sieds are unglued.
One loose block he sent goes on that one sied that came completely loose.
Looks like most of the breaks were done some time ago. The breaks were dirty.
I had to clean them, and, clean off rotted liquid hide glue.
I'm worried about that one broken leg. It's not real trust worthy. Need to come up with a plan to fix it better. Found out why these things break. At the furniture factory they had to turn the legs to a degree, and, to put it on the lathe, they had to drill a hole. The problem is it was at the weakest point, and, it weakenned. That combinned with the glue letting go, and, alot of twisting, and, that while owner had it, and, twisting while winding up the machine, was just too much for the machine.
And, these machines are very heavy due to the bed plate being cast iron.
That's alot of dead weight.
I'll take pictures this morning showing where I'm at now.......
I have a long way to go on this one.......

I glued more areas several hours ago, and, now, I notice that though still rocking, it's not as weak, and, rocking alot less. So, that means I'm making headway. Not happy yet, but, it's better than it was....................

Just got some bad news. I pulled out the last broken piece of shelf, and, after gluing it in, there is still a chunk missing.I jury rig glued it, and, when it's dry, I'll have to glue in another block of wood, cut, and, shape it. The good news is it's in the back. That one looks recent. Shoot. Oh, well. I'm doing what I can. It's still a little weak, but, there is more to glue.
I need this complete stable to be happy with it. It's alot more stable, but, not completely.

Did some cleanning, and, waxing of legs. They look much better. Just finnished re mounting back door, and, gluing last two bottom of cabinet wood blocks. This case is much stronger now.
I'll see how it feels standing, but, I want those last two blocks to dry first.........
It's coming along, now..............

Darn Edison, and, those pot metal bearings!!!

Last night I tried putting machine together. I'm having a number of bad issues, but, the worst is the horn won't lower. It comes down the fact that they have a pot metal bearing in the top bracket for horn lever. It is severely swollen in. Lever sticks badly apart, and, jams together. I'm filing away at the sucker trying to free things up.
I have other issues too, but, I must start with this one.

Great news, Guys!!!! Very Happy
I was given a hint on a hidden set of screw holes put in the case when it was made. I found them, and, re mounted. It's fixed, and, playing records Beautifully!! Very Happy
I am working on adjustments on it, and, I accidentally put some nasty scratches inside case while remounting machine. But, it's working beautifully.
Next month I order a repro grill for it.
Very Happy Smile Surprised

And, yes, I'll get more pictures of it, and, might be convinced when it's done to make a video of it............
