Brand new member

Post by Electronhammer on Sun Jan 15, 2012 12:44 pm

I'm brand new to this forum and a newbie when it comes to restoring antique radios. I have recently began a resto on a Motorola 6T radio. Overall it is in pretty good shape, but will need recapped (is that one P or two P?). Anyway I have began the resto project by digging into the chassis. Right now I am cleaning and inspecting and creating a parts list. I plan on posting some pics as I go if anyone is interested. I'll also have a couple of questions which I will soon post. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums. Questions welcome here. Put that into antique radio restoration section.
Have you expereience in electronics?
Soldering? Using test equipment?

Thanks again for the welcome and yes Bill, I do have experience in electronics, soldering, and using test equipment. I have been repairing electronics for a living since 1987. I don't have any experience with these old relics though. So I'm sure I will have plenty of questions.

It's all good. You don't have a bad memory Bill. I never mentioned anything about my experience and I added info to my profile after I had made this post. So nothing to worry about, it's all good and I look forward to spending some time on this forum and learning what I can about these old radios. Look for my thread in Antique Radios. I have started a post about my Motorola 6T restoration. I will try to add pics and info as I go through the process.
