Do you have a model number of it? It might help us to direct you to a web page that may have it.

Re: Grundig info needed
I guess my search for service data for this model Grundig is hopeless. I heard yesterday from someone who specializes in service data for foreign radios, who tells me that he does not have nor cannot find any such for my Grundig. A Google search yielded no results either.

All is not lost. If you cannot find info on that model, then it simply means that you now need to draw a schematic and work through the repair process, recording data as you go and when you are finished you will have created a repair manual for that radio. There may be others that need that information too. So get at it and come up with your own homemade service manual. You can do it.
Maybe there is a model that is very close to yours that you can find information on and work off of it. I know that with Motorola radios; if you have seen one front end, you have nearly seen them all. Once they have a design that works, they don't like to very from it much. Anyway, keep us posted and good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have no plans to create my own service manual for this unit. It is way too complicated a unit, with its FM, AM, and two SW bands, plus stereo output, complicated switching, and integrated record player for me to attempt such a project.

Yes, I found this item too, through a Google search. I may or may not check it out. I really want more complete data than a simple schematic diagram, such as alignment information, parts identification and location, etc. I've had "copies" of schematics before that are so poorly reproduced they are almost illegible and, so I strongly hesitate to buy one sight unseen and from a vendor totally unknown.
