What are modern substitutes for the previous 2N107 and 2N170? Thanks for any replies.

Re: Transistor cross-reference question
Thanks for referring me to this excellent source. But, to my astonishment, I discover that the subs for the 2N107 and 2N170 (NTE102A and 101) are a whopping $10.00 each--impossible.
