If I wanted to...
I just bought my first house last week and there is a Nutone model 2057-2058 house radio/intercom installed in the kitchen. The house was built in 1963 so I'm assuming the radio is the same age. I really like the look of the radio and I would like to keep the face and upgrade the internals. If I wanted to upgrade from the tubes, but keep the same analog dials and face plate, how would I go about doing that (ie.transistors, or some type of integrated circuit)?

Re: If I wanted to...
If it were me I would do one of two things. I would either restore the tube radio to good working order or look for one already trasistorized that would fit in its place. I have not worked on too many of those but its always easier to repair a tube radio than to "update" it with new guts in a proper fashion in my experence

Same opinion Leave it alone, too complicated to replace just internals. Repair is a better option.

I agree also thats it would be better to repair and restore than to retrofit new internals. The Nutones work pretty well once they are gone through.
