Movie: Thomas Edison, the man
Several months ago I purchased The movie Edison, the man on DVD from Amazon dot com...
Tonight, I re played the movie, and, enjoyed it very much.
I watched about the inventions especially on the phonograph, and, the electric light.
I watched as they showed how they had trouble on trial day, Sept. 4 with the governors of the two jumbos. They were able to repair the problem quickly enough to light up NY city.
It was equally thrilling to watch on the invention of the phonograph.
This movie was well played starring Spencer Tracey.
It showed his speech at Light's Golden Jubilee transmitted on radio.
It was absolutely inspring.
I ended by playing Keep the home fires burning on Blue Amberol cylinder on my rsusrected Edison Home model B with the cygnet horn, and, H saphire 4 min. reproducer.
Absolutely thrilling!!
I salute you, Mr. Thomas A Edison!

Re: Movie: Thomas Edison, the man
I will have to watch out for that movie. I like to see and read on the history of the people who were behind many of these inventions that were directly related to radio and TV. I had read somewhere that when he died someone "caught" his last breath in a jar. The jar wound up with Henry Ford and is at the Ford Museum now. I am almost certain it was Edison,if it wasn't Edison it was Marconi. I will have to look up that movie.
