Ronette Cartridge needle placement

Post by John Maxson on Mon Oct 31, 2011 2:12 pm

I have a Coilumbia portable with a Ronette cartridge. The flip lever for the 33-45 / 78 needle selection is marked L on one side and M on the other. Which side is for 33-45? Or does it matter?

Thanks

I believe this is a later cartridge with dual diamond needles for playing lp-45 rpm records.

It has 78, 45, and 33 RPM. I replaced both needles where they were, but the 78's don't play as loud as the 33's, even with 40's or 50's era 78's. I replaced the caps and there is no hum.
