So the chest cold became pneumonia and I've been outta the game for a while but Im better now and this weekend I redid some of the caps and resistors and also the veneer on the radio. I used the band-it brand of veneer sticky back.It comes in a roll bought the 12x48 inch stuff in mahogany.worked great! sands and takes stain well and easy to cut .Varnishing begins monday night and some painting when all the coats of varnish are done then new grill cover new feet and as soon as I order them new knobs. The new back is in the makings soon as he has a prototype to ok, I will order it and complete the radio...Doug Smile Here's a pic

Well the outsides done I changed the way the sides meet the top.I didn't like the Black line there as you can see from my first photo at the start of this thread above.I also painted some red around the bottom and the surround of the dial . But I think Im gonna change it back to black again. All in all it really was fun to do It still needs some work inside here and there but it works for me. Thanks for all the help I received from everyone couldn't of done it without you ...Doug Very Happy P.S. The camera phone stinks sorry.
