AA Zenith n513w noise

I get a loud noise on local station,almost blocks out the signal. I am new to repairing radios, but learning fast! I recapped the electrolytics and it got rid of the hum, it is plenty loud otherwise. How do you know if an IF transformer is of the silver mica type?

Need more information. What type of loud noise is it? Static? Buzz ?
All I F transformers have mica caps. If you mean does it have built in mica caps in I F's, what is the model, and, year of the set? Am? FM?

Sounds like silver mica disease in I F transformers.
You need a schematic for this set.

Took IF can apart and it has the black Siver mica problem.
I broke the red and green wires and not sure which way they go!

Show me pictures of what you are talking about.
