suggestion for a new area.

I have a suggestion for a new group,area ,etc for the site. With scanners and such as they are we can make a good dial and save it to a jpg. The software out there can also allow us to recreate good dials like originals. So many have recreated new dials for their radios. I have a suggestion to have a area we can deposit these dials so others can download if they need one. We could have them by maker and models. There are a few out there on line but I have not found one list of a bunch out there.

Thanks for the suggestion, but, there is no set list for dials, and, the list is quite long. That would take up alot of space on the server, which we are not allowed by the original owvers of this site. Thanks, anyway, for your suggestion.

No problem , I just got to thinking about that and thought it would be a good suggestion.

Rather than posting dial scale jpgs on the forum, how about a section where members may list which radios they have dial scans, photos or schematics for? Perhaps with contact information and links to websites or photo hosting sites so members can get in touch with each other regarding specific radios. I don't know the capabilities of the forum site, but it would be cool to have a form where members could type in their radio make and model number and have a check boxes for dial scan, schematic, photos, or whatever information they have available.

What could take place though is, as a member scans a dial face is to save it locally, then offer it to members via Email as an attachment. Or put it on photobucket or such types. Then have some one Save them (say monthly) and save to CD, then offer them to members.

We already have a links section to put in links for manny things. Scans are quite large, and, I'm not sure how manny you can get on a photo site, but, I know there are potentially way too many for this little forum.
