Tuning in from Metro Detroit

Okay, I was visting my Brother in Law who just moved back from Upstate New York, which would be Up North if you are from Michigan, but I digress. Mike had this little blond stereo cabinet set up in his living room, it was one of the first things he unpacked. We opened it up and revealed the AM/FM/SW mint tuner and turntable of his 1950's Telefunken Sonata. (with the breakout speakers) We dropped on some Tommy Dorsey and the orchestra filled the room. I had finally heard once again what music is supposed to sound like. Fast forward six weeks. I have aquired the following.
(1) 1941 Silvertone Chairside AM/SW: $80 with a $100 recap and 2 new tubes it sounds incredible. The cabinet is great and it has a phono input on the back, when I hook up my Droid to play mp3's in mono it rocks the mancave.
(2) 1970s Magnavox SS Console (Sorry, no tubes but they threw it in with the silvertone) It's in great condition. "Wake Up Maggie!"
(3) 1938 Philco AM/SW Chairside in incredible shape with inlaid wood and already tube rebuilt. It needs nothing, but I am going to have my radio technician put in a phono/FM/MP3 jack in the back.
(4) 1963 Zenith Stereo Console with AM/FM SS tuner, Phono and Tube Amps. $80 beautifull! Never even brought it home, it went straight to the shop for a full check up and tweaks. It has 2, 15 inch Woofers, 2 mid range and 4 tweeters. Cabinet and grill are perfect.
(1) Fisher Tube FM-80 to tie into the Philco after a full rebuild.
(1) Howard Tube FM 482 Tuner to tie into the Silvertone after full rebuild.

So I guess I am hooked on tubes.

What a blast.
