Except for the Mot. 5A5 AC-DC port. I haven't a tube radio worth mentioning since abt '63 when I built a 5 tube CB unit. I now have a Realistic DX-160. I'd like to have a tube type comm. rcvr. I cut my teeth on tubes. However the good ones are a bit costly for someone retired and on SS. I know how to recap and all that. I've repaired TVs, radios, phonos, tape decks, etc for 20 yrs. Been there, done that. Used to install HBO antennas on buildings before cable. What a chore! OT

Well, I'm here from ARF as many others are, I see. Hello folks. I am here to learn and maybe to contribute what little I know about radio. I am 67 so I ought to have absorbed a few things I can share from over the years. But as far a radio goes, I'm self-taught. I've been interested in radio all my life and built my first set, with the help of my dad, at ten years old. It was a one-tube, acorn tube, kit from Johnson-Smith. I could get WIBW and WREN from 17 miles away. Question for you: where was I? alien Say! I like the smileys here. I think this will be a fun forum. Very Happy
