Dion, could you maybe give me a little more detail on how you made your repair? I have the same radio with the same problem. I have removed the IF trans and it looks exactly like your photos. It seems to me that if I clip off the small spoon tabs that contact the mica the whole thing will just fall apart after reassembly. I was thinking about replacing the mica with a non-conductive material and then placing external caps on the posts. So I'm curious how you did it and what size of caps you used. By the way your radio looks great.

Cliff: I received the IT-12 manual you sent me; thanks very much! I need to rebuild the cabling on the probe, and wanted to see how it was originally supposed to be.
Bill 57: I got my info on the IF cans from the following link: http://www.ppinyot.com/if_transformers.htm I could explain further, but this site does a better job in pictures than I can in words. Let me know if you have any questions about it, though. I'm no expert, but I will happily share any details regarding what I did to repair mine. -Dion
