A question of Forum Loyalty?
Friends of the Radio,
I will be taking ownership of an SK's estate in the next few weeks. He had a large library of radio handbooks, primarily, Amateur Radio related. My intent is to move the duplicate texts along to Forum readers.
Over the Holidays, I have been weeding out quite a few books from my own library and in combination with the SK's estate, I will have an exhaustive list.
I have noted MANY members of ARF have come here.
Publishing the same list to two different Forums, not only would be unmanageable, but unethical.
Though the major list will not be ready for about a month to six weeks, my question is should I post the book sale here, or wait until ARF is up? Considering that TRF could get very lonely when ARF returns
Best,
Chas

I don't know why you would think it's unethical. Look at it as more exposure that otherwise might be overlooked by those not using BOTH Forums.
I have done double postings occasionally with no remorse.
PS- It will give us more exposure as Google Bots most forums for use in its searches, and will help bring notice to our Forum(s).

Re: A question of Forum Loyalty?
ARF isn't just peddling goods. It's also discussions and the virtual relationships that develop from them. You can not be loyal or disloyal to any particular forum site when dealing with only sales or only discussions. It's the sum of all parts. There is no guarantee that either ARF or TRF will be here tomorrow or next week. To post or not or sell or not is a decision you can only make, not us.
Having said that, I believe your only ethical decision concerns listing something you can't yet sell. I understand wanting exposure from two sites, but if you can't ship you should not advertise.
Agree that listing on two sites would be a management problem. Perhaps the only solution if you want to get started here (when you are ready to ship) is to list items here first, then close all action here once you can advertise on ARF.
