Things aren't selling well, houses for sale, yet, as far as hospitals, electric companies, etc..., we have no troubles, so, rates keep going up. When will it all end?

I'm not looking for who to blame. I'm looking for what can we, as Americans, do to improve things?

Does not good to wag the finger of blame. We'll never agree on that.

Hello

My husband and I recently purchased what we "think" is an antique radio. It is a console radio, walnut cabinet and the radio components have plates that say Majestic Model 15 and Grigsby-Grunow Manufactured in Chicago. It has 5 tubes. I have searched the internet and can find no mention of a Model 15 that is a console. We are wondering if we got a mismatched cabinet and radio? If anyone can point me to a website or place where I might do some research, I would sure appreciate ...

Anyhoo, earlier today I was noticing a growing rattling problem in speaker, and, the panic sign went up.

I got it apart, and, found it rubbing and, ripped.

When I got around to repair, here is what I did....

I removed speaker from amp.

I turned it face down.

I got out my small bottle of contact cement , and,a good sized piece of Scot toilet paper.

I didn't ...

I have been reluctant to talk about this with anyone save for family members and close friends, but I decided it would be best to let you folks here know about it, too. I've been told that it helps to talk about it with more people...and I believe that advice to be true.

It is Stage 1 which means it has not advanced very much, and (hopefully) can be fully cured. No guarantees, of course, but then again none of ...

I hope this question fits the new category. I am a beginner with a gutted AM "farm radio" Nipperette made by RCA. It uses the following four tubes: 1a7, 1n5, 1h5, 1t5. I have found a schematic for a Northern Electric Baby Champ B4000 which uses a similar tube set. This set was water damaged at some point, with some ash residue inside the cabinet so I assume it may have been exposed to fire.

There are a few components that will need to be replaced due to physical damage. Most of ...

Hey all!

If you managed to catch my intro you would have notice I picked up a RCA model 56X1. You may also have noticed I know squat about repairing/restoring electronics. The reason for me starting this topic is, what should I do to start restoration? Nothing happens when I plug it in and turn it on. I have no tube tester and don't know anyone else with knowledge of old tube radios.

Any help or suggestions to point me in the right direction will be greatly appreciated!

We have an old Zenith television in the basement of my wife's childhood home. The only marking we see is the T2222E. Curious about how old it is and how "rare" it is. It measures 22" diagonal screen. We think it was purchased around 1950. Does that sound correct? Wife and SIL turned it on today and the screen lit up then went dark. Just curious of the history of this set. Thank you for any info. David

Hello,

I am new to this forum.

I recently built a one tube Armstrong regen from a kit. It is sold by Borden Radio Company, Radio Daze and another company whose name I forget. The tube is a 3S4 which will take up to 45 Volts DC on the plate. It works well with 22.5 Volts. I have tried two antennas. The first is a 40 foot "short" wire antenna in my apartment. The second is the aluminum window frame in my bedroom. Booth work equally well. The radio works without a ground.

I get ...

The set is so small, no room for a resistor or caps in the cabinet area.

I had suggested using a resistor to drop the 73v.

A member of the radio community who will remain nameless for the time being, set my friend a diagram on how to rework the set.

That would involve changing the 32L7 (.3A) to a 70L7GT (.15A filament) and the ...
